Privacy policy
Nonzero is built so that your habits stay yours. This policy covers the Nonzero app and this website, nonzero.mse.today.
The app
The app has no account and no server of our own. Everything you enter, such as habits, marks and settings, is stored on your phone. We never receive it.
To help us improve the app, it sends anonymous usage counts to Aptabase and crash reports to Sentry. Usage counts come from a fixed list of events, such as which template you started from or where in the app you marked a habit (Today, Month or a widget), with the app's version, the phone's system and its language. A crash report holds technical details such as the error, the phone's model and its operating system.
Neither includes your habit names or emoji, anything you type or the dates of your marks, and neither is linked to you. Aptabase counts users with a code that changes every day, not a device ID, and works out your country and region from your network address without keeping the address. We strip identifiers, such as the network address, from crash reports before they're stored.
Both are on when you install the app. One switch in Settings, “Help improve Nonzero”, turns both off.
It keeps up to seven daily backups on your phone. The app never sends them anywhere; you can export them yourself, to a place you choose.
Reminders are scheduled on your phone. Nothing about them is sent to us.
Deleting the app deletes its data. Your phone's own backup, such as iCloud or Google backup, may include the app's data under your account with Apple or Google.
This website
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and keep the service secure.
If you allow it, we count visits with Google Analytics. It sets cookies, and Google processes information such as your IP address, device, browser and the pages you visit, possibly outside your country. We see only totals, such as page views, referring sites and countries, and we don't use them for advertising. If you don't allow it, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all.
The site keeps a few small choices on your device. In cookies, for a year: your language, if you pick one (nz-locale), and your answer about analytics (nz-consent). In your browser's storage: light or dark, if you pick one (nz-theme), and, until you close the tab, that you closed the language suggestion. You can change your analytics answer at any time under Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
The site has no advertising and no social media trackers.
Purchases
Nonzero Pro is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google takes the payment under your account with them; we never see your name, email address or card.
To know whether you have Pro, the app uses RevenueCat. It receives an anonymous ID that the app creates and your purchase history from the store, never your habits. Restore purchases in Settings uses the same ID.
Children
Nonzero isn't aimed at children under 13. It never asks anyone for a name, an email address or other personal details.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and the change is described here.
